Software Engineer - APIs and Multiple Platforms

About this Job

Union Connect is looking for a new member of our technical staff to focus on development of our API. You should have a passion for providing and improving web services that are used by thousands of developers on a multitude of platforms.

Responsibilities

1. •Write Internet-facing code in multiple languages
   

2. •Implement new API methods and services
   

3. •Maintain existing API methods
   

4. •Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, back-end engineers, and third-party developers
   

5. •Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
   

6. •Pro-actively look for ways to make Union Connect better
   

Requirements

1. •Demonstrable experience building and/or consuming web services at scale
   

2. •Excellent programming skills in at least one object-oriented language
   

3. •Disciplined approach to performance, functional, and correctness testing
   

4. •Strong command of web standards, RESTful API design
   

5. •Good understanding of web technologies (HTTP, Apache) and familiarity with Unix/Linux
   

6. •Great written communication and documentation abilities

4. •Experience in providing a widely-used web service
